Of all the assignments we received, I looked forward to this one with great anticipation. And deep regret, even before shooting. I don’t have a macro lens. And these shots were taken while holding two additional lenses (which were borrowed and the wrong size and not strong enough but ya gotta make do) against the end of my very basic and unsatisfactory 18-55m lens. I could not zoom in and catch every hair or filament or scale or leaf detail as I wished. And I ADORE macro photography.

This assignment convinced me I need at least one additional lens, a macro lens, in order for me to feel happier with my gear.

Here you can see a ring, which was caused by me not holding the two lenses flush enough. But the resultant rounded look is quite interesting.
