let me first clear any doubts about the title. I don’t believe in the type of child labor persecuted in third-world countries that leads to lifetime disabilities. I do, however, believe in daily chores and teaching children the value of hard work and earning what they desire or want, rather than expecting it to be given to them.
My daughter, who is 6 years of age, helps me with dog-sitting. It is the reason for my previous post of having both underfoot.
The more she helps, the more she gets paid. As of yet, she does not get paid the full amount as she refuses to poop-scoop.
Apparently, she doesn’t like to look at it.
Like I do?
Yeah, I dream of looking for it in my jungle grass and finding the hidden gems of doggie poo just to pick it up with bagged hands and throw it away. (Silently gagging…)
For those of you not accustomed to dark humor, that was complete sarcasm.
For those of you not educated in English terms consisting of more than four letters, here’s some help:
Sarcasm
nounsar·casm | \ ˈsär-ˌka-zəm \
Definition of sarcasm
1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual
Just so’s ya know, I often employ satirical or facetious humor as well….
And someday, she will scoop ALL the poop.
