wishing vs. acting
hoping vs. taking
wanting vs. asking
needing vs. UGH NOTHING, THERE IS NOTHING AGAINST NEED
We have all been caught in the trap of waiting for something or someone to happen. Thinking if we’re just patient enough, it’ll work itself out, or themselves out, and we’ll get what we need/want/hope for…..
Well I’m here to tell ya, ain’t no one a psychic. If ya want something done, do it for yourself and for that poor clueless person who can’t take a hint. (I originally typed ‘stupid person’ but realized that’s cruel, however true it may be….and I’m not a cruel person, just blunt. So feel the blunt edge of my verbal sword, ya undeserving miscreant.)
There isn’t actually a single person to whom I’m writing (yeah right! yells my subconscious), as I know that we all have these moments (or people) in our lives. If you want something, ask for it. For those of you beholden to the belief that “I shouldn’t have to, they should just know”, you’re an idiot. I don’t use that word lightly. But truly, it is as simple as placing yourself in another’s position. Look at your face. Dissect your body language. Listen your words and absorb the tone of your voice. Then, once you have fully digested the entirety of your personal communication output, try and understand it as an outsider who has no personal HDMI hooked into your brain.
My point being, be open. Be blunt. Be truthful, yet kind. Ask for what you want, describe what you need.
Do not expect others, regardless of their placement in your life’s hierarchy, to automatically understand and interpret your every nuance and then jump to satisfy your immediate desires and needs before you even comprehend them yourself.
And for god’s sake (not the Japanese saké), realize the world revolves around everyone’s own sun and you are not it.
Being a sun would actually really suck, truth be told. All those solar flares….gotta be worse than menopause hot flashes. Damn.
